This 2001 BMW Z8 is a three-owner car that was sold new by a Texas dealer to a resident of Connecticut. The first owner kept the car until 2018, when it was sold to the second owner, a resident of Arizona. The third and most recent owner is a noted collector in Albuquerque who also happens to be a former owner of a BMW dealership. During his ownership, the Performance Package was installed. This kit adds structural integrity to the front suspension via a specially designed strut tower brace. Installation of this brace can be difficult and when done incorrectly, it will rub on the hood pad. It's also worth noting that the tolerance is tight, and the brace can't be installed on a car that has had any strut tower movement (damage). The interior is in excellent condition and without any significant wear to the seat leather and no sun damage to dash top. As with most Z8s, the soft top headliner has a minor bunching at the header bar. The exterior paintwork is in excellent shape and is all original except for the hood. The paintwork is undetectable to the eye but reads slightly higher via the meter 7 – 8 mils, vs. 3-5 like the rest of the car. Paintwork this thin can only be attributed to stone chip repair. All mechanical systems are working as intended and the dash is free of warning lights. New Pirelli Cinturato tires were fitted in 2021 and are run-flat as recommended by the manufacturer.
