• Completed July 1997

The first owner purchased this 1998 C2S from Newport Auto Center (Porsche dealer) and owned it up until 2005. Always serviced and maintained at the local Porsche dealer. The second & third owners also took excellent care of the 993 and did regular services every year at the Porsche dealer or at Porsche Independents. The paint is amazing finished in Guards Red with a Black interior with excellent gaps and fit. Mechanically this 993 C2S is in perfect condition with a strong running 3.6L engine producing 285 horsepower. A new clutch was installed at 75,353 miles in 2009 by the current owner at the cost of $3,132. The clutch is light as it should be and new rear Michelin tires have just been installed. Last serviced October 25, 2018, at 84,973 miles. Complete with books, manuals, spare tire, tools, jack, factory Porsche air compressor & paperwork back to the date of purchase. A unique opportunity to own the last of the 993 C2S air-cooled hand built Porsche.

On May 7, 2014, the third owner was hit on the left rear bumper by an SUV in the Corona Del Mar High School parking lot. The insurance company of the SUV covered all of the repair work to the rear bumper, left rear quarter panel, catalytic converter and left exhaust muffler. The work was performed by Ultimate Coachworks, Inc in Culver City and Callas Rennsport Porsche Service & Restoration Center in Torrance, California. We have photos of the damage before the repairs and complete documentation of the work that was performed. It is just like new and in amazing condition overall.

History

The 993 was much improved over, and quite different from its predecessor. According to Porsche, every part of the car was designed from the ground up, including the engine and only 20% of its parts were carried over from the previous generation. Porsche refers to the 993 as "a significant advance, not just from a technical, but also a visual perspective." Porsche's engineers devised a new light-alloy subframe with coil and wishbone suspension (an all-new multi-link system), putting behind the previous lift-off oversteer and making significant progress with the engine and handling, creating a more civilized car overall providing an improved driving experience. The 993 was also the first 911 to receive a six-speed transmission.
